“ordinal 11 in DSOUND.DLL not found” err

Recently I installed a PC game. But when I started it, the following message appeared “ordinal 11 in DSOUND.DLL not found”
I re-installed my direct x 8.1 but the problem still persist. I tried installing the same game on windows 2000 and 98 and it’s okay. PLease help me. THANKS.
