Ordinal 6 not in DSOUND.DLL in Links

I am trying to help a client install, i think a Game package designed by MS. After installation i could not run the application. I get the error message “The Ordninal 6 couldn’t be located in the dynamic link library DSOUND.dll” Can anybody help me.
