OS thinks DVD drive is a CD drive

I have an older PC running WinME with separate CD-RW and DVD drives. Everything worked fine until I installed a trial version of Pinnacle CD/DVD software. Since then my DVD drive is no longer recognized as a DVD. I uninstalled the Pinnacle software but the OS still thinks it is a CD and I can’t get it to set it up as a DVD drive.
