Out of Memory problems using windows 200

I got a Dell Latitude c600 laptop with 128m memory. The question is the laptop after a while or so keep poping up with “out of memory” messages. Tried configuring the page file settings to see if that makes any differences..nope. Even tried recreating the swap file no luck there. There is lots of free space to hold the swap file on the hard disk. Maybe it’s a memory leak??? Any ideas?
