Outlook 2000 error

Outlook is giving me a error as follow:
POP3 server sent an invalid response. Server reponse:’343′ (Account:mail.northernc.on.ca’, POP3 Server: ‘mail.northernc.on.ca’,Error Number:0x800ccc93)

The POP3 server is working ok (check out) We beleive Outlook is causing the problem. Have anyone experienced this and have a solution to it?
