Outlook Express & Links

I have a customer who uses XP and outlook express.
Upon receiving an e-mail in outlook express they are unable to access a link enclosed in the e-mail by clicking on it. The hand appears when placing the cursor above the link, but nothing happens. They are forced to copy the link to their web browser, then they can view it after hitting enter.
