Pacbell DSL and VPN

Has anyone yet figured out how to get a vpn connection working over Pacbell ADSL with pppoe? I use a linksys router that handles the pppoe negotiations. The vpn settings work fine on the dialup connection but wont connect over the pppoe DSL route.
