Page File Authority

Anyone care to give the ultimate guide to page file setup.

I have read 4 manuals on Win 2000 Server and Win 2000 Pro but all give RAM+64 as the recommended value.

Using this value in Win 2000 Pro using 196Mb RAM would give a recommended minimum of 256Mb, if we use the formula.

Windows puts 768 as the default upper limit. However, “page file is too small” is displayed in this configuration.

What is going wrong?
