Palm 1000 with Outlook 98

I have a palm 1000 upgraded to System 2.0 Pro with 1MB. I would like to tranfer my Contacts and Calendar from Outlook 98 to it. I have tried it and it wants an updated version to support this. I have tried the programs that came with my Vx and M100.can I upgrade the 1000 to use system 3 so that Outlook 98 can be used with it.
