Password expiration

Suddenly, when users logon to their Exchange mail via web access, a error message appears that their password will expire in 0 days. This only happens with web access, not Outlook.Isn’t the password tied into their NT user profile, which is set to never expire? This began to happen after I installed an IIS hotfix, if that’s any help.
