Password to access

I have a client with 1 win2k machine and 5 win98/95 machines on a peer to peer network. Whenever someone else tries to connect to the w2k machine it asks for a password. we have checked and there does not seem to be any permissions set that shouldbe causing this and I do not have those users as local users (should not need to)….Any suggestions?
