Hi all…back after a long hiatus working on certs and devoting myself to the office.
I have a new laptop – a beautiful HP Pavilion zv5000z (athlon 64, 1gb ram, 15.4 Britescreen, cd/dvd burner, 100gb HD – it rules). The only flaw is it has a ridiculous 802.11b internal wireless card built in. I’m pretty sure it’s a mini-pci broadcom card, but there isn’t a door to access it (like on similar models) and I didn’t feel daring enough to pull a new laptop apart without any info. HP has not responded to my questions or request for help.
So….anyone know how I access it and what cards I can upgrade with (I was leaning toward a broadcom 802.11g – since I felt confident that would work).
Anyhow, the details are this –
HP zv5000z Pavilion Laptop model DP523AV
I’d really appreciate any assistance. Seems a shame to have such a great laptop with such a lame wi-fi card – especially when I’m working on my CWNA and CWSP now…
