PC connected to DSL not resolving DNS

Here is the problem: a single Windows 98SE PC in a home connected to a DSL line. PC had OS problems so I reinstalled 98SE. OS problems fix, but now cannot resolve DNS names. Can ping ISP gateway and DNS servers. ISP can ping IP of PC. Anybody here run across this problem?
