PC hanging

We have several PC’s running Win NT 4.0 After installing SP6 and IE6 we noticed an issue when the user tries to close all programs and log on as a different user the PC will hang. Sometimes it will go back to the login prompt, but other times the user needs to reboot. This issue was not happening before the Internet upgrade. Any suggestions as to why?
