PC Music Speed

Whenever I play my recorded music on my pc {recorded on my hard drive}the music play at a
faster then normal speed ? Kinda sounds like the chimp munks . I am running win98 , pentium4, just recently put in a new mainboard {p4x-266}. It is not the players, cause I have tried several different types of players . {musicmatch, RealOne Player, Winamp, Windows MediaPlayer} Same results?
