PC shut down suddenly!

I have 2 PCs running on win98 are shutting down suddenly…all a long they are okay (PC already 3 years old). I have already scanned the PC remotely with up-to-date virus definition, no virus was detected. Anyone can tell me why this is happened? Thanks in advanced
