PC slows after in Network Neighborhood

This is a 98 PC. It runs fine until the user browses in Network Neighborhood. The PC will slow to a crawl and the user is forced to reboot after which the PC runs fine. This is on a Novell 5.1 network. I have reinstalled the Novell client and done an in place setup both of which corrected the problem temporarily.
