The user has a GW-GP7-500 machine that was recently upgraded to Win2K. Plenty of RAM and hard drive space. BIOS is updated as well. Problem is, when he goes to the Shut Down command, and says ok, it clicks likes it’s going off and the screen goesblank, but the monitor does not go into sleep mode, nor does the CPU truly turn off. The pilot lights on the front panel stay green, the fan still runs, and there is a blinking cursor in the upper left hand side of any otherwise black screen. In fact, the only way he can power it off is to hold down the power switch for about 6 to 8 seconds until it manually goes off (and it starts fine next time he powers on; no scandisk runs or anything else wierd). I have looked into the power management side of things and researched possible interferences, but all roads point to an incompatible BIOS, which is already current. I’m stuck; please help!
