PCI COMMUNICATION DRIVER

out of the blue, my machine (Win Me 600 megahertz Intel Celeron) does not recognize my dvd drive nor my cd rom drive. i really cannot figure out what the problem is, but when i go to system i see that the PCI Communication driver has a problem. i tried to reinstall it with no success. I couldn t find a driver to download on the internet. i deleted the pci but windows could not reinstall it either. Please help!
