PCI conflict??

During the boot up, one of my workstations stops with an error message about about PCI in slot one. Seems to be related to the audio since the user lost audio when this started. The options given are F1 which takes me to the BIOS, or F2 which takes me to the desktop, but like I say, the audio doesn’t work and programs stall before opening. Anyone else run into this?
