PDFs printing junk in Citrix

I have several users who when they try to print PDF’s – it just comes out as wired characters and square boxes.

The only thing I can find is q267896 on MS Support, which says you must contact MS directly for a hotfix.

Is this the only way to remedy this as I loathe to sit on the phone to MS for hours.

Any help appreciated.
