peer-to-peer network browsing slow

On our peer-to-peer network several dirs on W2K clients have been shared. These dirs contain many files (1000s).

When browsing to these shares from W2K clients, it can take several mins to display the contents of the dirs. However, when browsingfrom W98 clients, the contents are displayed immediately.

Any ideas?
