peer to peer networking

I want to connect two windows 98 systems with
UTP cable. I have installed Network adapter cards in both the systems and all the services and protocols TCP/IP, NetBUI. IP address is set for the both and I am unable to the each other systems. Cable is tested ok. What will be the solution
