PerfMon and Event Viewer E-mail Alerts?

Is it possible to configure Performance Monitor and/or Event Viewer to generate an e-mail (I know network messages are possible) to a user regarding a pre-defined event, such as low disk space or high CPU usage? If the MS OS does not have this capability, do you know of any third-party solutions that can? It would be ideal if it would work in both an NT and Win2K environment. Thanks in advance for your help.
