Planing Site Connectors

If my site structructure consists of 1 primary site, where most servers are located. With 4 interstate sites connected togther in an ATM cloud.

Do i need to configure site connectors between all sites or between the primary site all the interstate sites only?
What impact will both configurations have on Active Derectory replication?
