Please help.

I am having a hard time figuring out why my router (a D-link WBR-1310) won’t connect to the Hughes Net HN70000S system. I have a desk top, 2 laptops and a printer I would like to connect to the router. I am seeing the connection on my laptop but when I pull it up I see a clear line from my laptop to the router but a x from the router to the modem. Please help.
