Please help me save my files. Problem with hard drive enclosure…

Hello, quick recap. I dropped my laptop, it says hard disk error. Will not start. I buy a Thermaltake enclosure and plug into my friend’s PC. I also download ExploreXP and am able to see all of my files. Problem is I can’t drag anything from My Documents folder to her drive. I can drag other folders in Documents and Settings but the main one I want(with all my pictures, papers, etc.) will not. I drag a single file and it says Cannot Copy File: Cannot read from the source file or disk.

If I drag from My Shared Folder, I can do the whole folder but then it freaks out a bit and says: Action cannot be completed because “My Shared Folder” program is not responding. Choose “switch to” and correct the problem. SO I just go one file at a time.

I also tried doing the whole volume at once, which is labeled as the E drive and it said the same thing as above except it listed it as the “Program Manager” program is not responding.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get to My Documents? This has about 6 years worth of stuff in there and like an idiot, I don’t have it backed up…

Is it possible my documents are password protected?
