Plug and Play Bios (Fail Safe) Error…

After installing a new hard drive, I have succesfully installed the operating system.(Win 98)After starting win98 I receive the error message: “Plug and play bios(fail safe).cannot find file bios.vxd.” I have tried numerous things, but to no avail. My cdrom is not recognized and neither is the floppy drive.. both are running with dos-mode drivers, and do not function. The OS works fine in another system..but not in the other one. I have an old Packard Bell Legend 3550 Pentium 1.. Can anyone offer some help. Also when my pc post’s I get the message: “Bios Shadowed”….”memory shadowed” I would greatly appreciate the help guys… Thanks
