Policy and word97 templates

I have implemented a security policy, that’s hides the network neighborhood, now my word and powerpoint templates from the \\server\share disapears. If you select details in the “new” you can see an size and a date but no icon or text.doc.
How do Ikeep my policy and viewing my templates at the same time?
