Poor Internal Communication

by al . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

I am working on a Dell Dimension P133t and attempting to upgrade the processor from 133MHz to 333MHz using an evergreen Spectra 333 chip. This uses AMK6/333 processor. From the documentation the motherboard into which I am atrempting to install seems to indicate a good match, however, post installation inclusive of Mr BIOS bios software, the PC seems to communicate badly with devices on the PCI bus.

I have not had a chance to check ISA thoroughly to see if this is affected either. Evergreen have suggested re-installation of the old processor with the new BIOS to see if that is the cause. Otherwise, the only other thing it could be would be the processor. The only other alternative is to install a manufacturer BIOS update to see if this works with the new processor.

Does anyone have any other ideas, as I have no specs on the Dell motherboard and they aren’t able to provide it either which makes things difficult.

Help. Its X-mas I am on holiday and having more support nightmares

Thank you
