PPPOE & 802.11b on XP

The system is a ThinkPad A31 with XP. It has a miniPCI card with the 10/100 Ethernet and modem. It also has a Linksys 802.11b PCMCIA card. I’m trying to set it up to run PPPOE to BellSouth DSL. I want the PPPOE to run over the wireless Ethernet to an Airport wireless accesspoint that attaches to a switch with the DSL modem attached to the switch. The network is up and working and this machine is the only machine not working (also the only XP machine). It looks to me like when I stup PPPOE via XP the system wants to ignore the 802.11b active network and use the miniPCI Ethernet, which is not connected. Any ideas anyone?
