Is there and what is the best way to keep the desktop/settings for a user when I need to move their computer from one domain to another.
Currently I have users in domain A. I have other users in domain B. Originally seperate companies at seperate locations.
Now I want to create a entirely new setup (i.e new forest, new domain) and migrate these users to the new one. All user machines are running W2K professional. I basically want to make them part of the new domain but not loose there desktops and current settings. I realize that the servers have to be moved before users will have access to printers, file shares, etc.
It seems that in the past when I have tried to do this (in testing) the user gets a new desktop each time with default Icons.
Any help on what I need to do or am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.
