Print from DOS to USB Printer

by zalog . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

I have a HP 895 DeskJet printer attached via the USB port. How do I print from a DOS window directly to the printer. I know I can redirect to a file and then print the file, but I would like to print directly to the printer.

Right now when I do a DIR > PRN: the output ends up in Acrobat PDFWriter. My default printer is the HP 895. When I try to capture the port I’m asked for a network address. Is there a setting I’m missing? Is there a utility that can capture a LPT port and send theresult to USB?
