Print Server and Excel

by victor74 . Updated 25 years, 4 months ago

I have installed a Print Server on Windows 2000. We have 52 printers connected. There are a varied range of printers, but mostly they are HPs. The OSs linked to them are Win95 and NT4 (few 2000s as well). The user mostly mostly use the PCl drivers. Printers are shared and I added the additional drivers for the different OSs. Now, however, on all the Windows NT4 workstations ONLY, Excel does not want to format the page size correctly. It seems to print at one font size only. Resizing in the print preview does nothing except zoom the image on the view page. Sizeing the page manually does nothing either. On 95 and 2000, everything eorks fine. This problem occurs on all the different printers Hp4000, 8000, 5si, 4si, Tektronix Phasers (550, 740) etc. The commonality in the problem seems to be the NT4 device driver.

If I install the printers directly (IP port), the problem goes away. Up until now the users have been using the novell spoolers and we are converting to NT.

Anyone know of a solution? I have
