Printer not printing

I have installed and reinstalled my Epson Stylus Photo 750 Printer. It prints the test page all right, but then a box appears which says that This Program has performed an illegal opeartion and wil shut down. The printer does not print anything butthe test page, even though the various settings say it is ready to print. What is going on?
