printer problem

i am currently having problems with my printer, the printer is a HP DESKJET 5600 when i try to get into the printer assistant , a box comes up saying

error 1327 invalid drive k:/

meaning that i cannot clean the heads or basically do anything to the printing settings , i have tried reloading the software from the cd but the message just comes up again and have alos tried loading the more recent driver of the sorftware from the internet nothing works and now it will not let me delete the software

anyone know how i can get round this prob??
