Printer Setups Disappear using MS WORD

While using WORD 97, many of our users are reporting that when they try to print, Word hangs. Looking the PRINTERS, the only box that appears is the ADD NEW PRINTER box. I have to reboot the PC in order for the printers to be usable again. Any answers?
