Printers in Control Panel not accessible

I’m running Win98 SE on a clone PC P3 500 with 128 MB Ram. When I try to access “Printers” in the control panel the window comes up but, I’m unable to access the printers. It simply freezes on me until I close the applet with the 3 fingered salute. Scandisk also freezes up and cause a BSOD. What’s up docs?
