Printing in Windows 2000

I have upgraded a PC from Win95 to 2000 Pro and am not now able to print to a Laserjet 5L printer. I have deleted and re-installed many times and have downloaded the latest drivers from the HP website and am getting nowhere. I can print a status page so assume the actual printer is OK. I have another PC which I have upgraded to Windows 2000 which has the same printer that is working fine. Can anyone help?
