printing problem

We use NT40 terminal enterprise using Citrix Metaframe environment; clients are a combo of PCs(win98) and thinclients.

Problem: unable to print jobs through network printer connection. “printing – status is not available”

we are using hp jet directs with static IP addresses. we can ping to them, we can see them, we can send jobs to them,we’ve stop and start spooler services. We cant get them to print.
