Printing with JetDirect on Win95 Network

I am helping out an office that uses Win95 for all it’s computers and several of them print to one printer. It’s an HP 4050 with a JetDirect card installed. It sits in a room by itself and is connected to the network via cat 5 cabling. There is one computer that has to be on for the other computers to print to that printer. I want them all to be able to print without that computer since it will be replaced in the next few months (I’m told). I know that it should be able to print to an IP address and I have that address, but it won’t allow any other printer to connect to it. Any ideas why?
