Problem printing JPG image to USB HP750

I am using a Toshiba Satellite running Windows ME, 256MB memory, 20GB disk 12GB free space. I can print JPG images up to 450KB without problems, when I attempt to print an image larger than 450KB the system generates an error message “Unknown system error printing to DOT4. Restart Windows and try again.” Obviously a reboot does not fix the problem. How can I troubleshoot this problem and resolve it.
