I have a dual boot system with Window ME in one parition and Windows 2000 Pro in another. In W2K I make the ME partition active, so that I could boot into it do to a little house cleaning. When the system attempted to boot into the ME partition anerror message appeared saying that ME was missing a file or two. Which one are unimportant to my question.
Okay, I wanted to simply change the active partition but found that if you boot using the Recovery Console and ERD or any combination thereof FDISK isn’t there. How, with an unbootable system would I make the W2K partition active so that I can boot the machine?
Also, any other advice on how to prevent such mishaps in the future would be of great service!! (ie: 3d party software, how to fakeout Windows into booting to another partion, etc.)
Thanks!!!
