Problem with WWW services – W2K Prof

First I would like to know whether WWW services can be initiated in Windows 2000 professional and administered using IIS in standalone machine?
My Problem

I have upgraded from Windows 95 to Windows 2000 professional (in standalone machine not connected to any network and does not have any NIC card).
I was using Personal Web Server in Windows 95 for developing web applications.
Now I have problem in starting WWW services in Windows 2000, when gotoservices option and start WWW services I get an error “The authentication service is unknown”.
I would like know any additional setup or services needs to be initiated to start WWW services.
