Problematic Exchange Message Conversion

by stergios_nik . Updated 25 years ago

Hello,

I have an exchange 5.5 mail sever with SP3.

I face 2 strange problems.

1. I send a mail message using (Greek) characters to my own email address using Netscape as mail client. If I receive the message from Netscape the character conversion is OK! I can read the Greek characters text. BUT IF I READ IT FROM OUTLOOK WEB ACCESS I GET the following in the message body: ?????f????. Some characters are lost during conversion. Do you know what causes this problem?

2. My second problem is to do with the Outlook Web Access interface. Say, we have 2 accounts: account1@mydomain.com and account2@mydomain.com.

As you know Outlook Web Access interface has some link options in order to check the INBOX, SENT, TRASH folders. If I loginto mail server with account1 I CAN READ THE OPTIONS with Latin English characters as it should be. BUT IF I LOGIN ON THE SAME COMPUTER WITH account2, then I NOTICE THAT THE LINK OPTIONS ARE UNREADABLE. Some characters are substituted with ????Fd????(questionmarks). I mean the INTERFACE IS WRONG INSTEAD OF ENGLISH CHARACTERS I GET ????fdf????.

BOTH PROBLEMS HAVE IN COMMON THE ?????QUESTIONMARKS.

Does anybody know what is going on?

PS: IF I SEND A MAIL MESSAGE TO MY SELF USING THE OUTLOOK WEB ACCESS AS MAIL CLIENT THEN I CAN READ THE GREEK CHARACTERS.

I CONCLUDE THAT SOMETHING IS GOING ON WITH THE CONVERSION THAT IS BEING DONE BY THE OUTLOOK WEB ACCESS WHEN IT RECEIVES EMAIL FROM INTERNET EXPLORER OR NETSCAPE.

Do I have to install something to my exchange 5.5 sever?

Help!
