Problems in Active Directory Services

I have a very serious problem from a long time, I want to know that If we have installed windows 2000 Server ( DC with active directory installed). Because ADS work with DNS, so if we uninstalled DNS accidently or delete the zone containg the activedirectory data, then no any client is able to join domain even that ADS does’nt remove from system. Tell me what is the way for troubeshoot this problem of DNS with ADS.
