Problems with ATI dirvers

by sbhuck . Updated 23 years, 3 months ago

I am having a problem with ATI drivers. ATI recommenneds that you use updated driver w82440en, but when you try to install it, it says that you must have w82420en installed. if you try toinstall w82420en, it says you must have w82411en installed. Ihave installed w82411en, but when i try to install w82420en, I lose my display monitor, af ter I reboot my computer.
The reboot syarts out normalyy, but shortly intoit it turns off my display monitor, and I have a blank screen.
Something is happening, becaause after a brfief time you hear the familiar “thunk”hich means and error has occurred, but you have no display monitor to see what has happened. When this has hapenined, the only way I get my display monitor back, is to reload my windows 98, and of course, I lose all the programs I had before this happened.
How do I avoid this, I need atleast w82420en inorder to get my 3-D graphics to be available.
I have managed top have both w82411en and w82420en installed, but quite fraankly, Idonot remember installing w82420en. and I have no Idea whaat to do.
Help!
