Problems with backup

“Hinrgman” told me to back up the 540MB hard drive that I need to remove dynamic drive overlay from by burning it to a cd. That would be fine, but how do I burn it to a cd when it has to be the first thing to boot and only has MS-DOS? Could I set up a burner from that hard drive running only DOS? Let me know how if its possible.
