problems with LCD flat screen monitor

We bought a Sylvania 17″ TFT LCD Flat Panel Monitor–CL772b. While we’re generally happy with it, there seems to be a problem with monitor resolution…not sure if that’s what you would term it. There is a black “jumpy” line that appears at times…when I use the wheel to scroll; sometimes when I’m keying information…as is happening as I type this question. Is this something that can be resolved or should we return the monitor?
