problems with samsung dvd-ram drive

hi. i am having problems to the point of exhaustion with my samsung DL 18x dvd-ram lightscribe drive.whenever i use nero it ejects my blank dvd-rs saying it requires a blank disc .it will only accept dvd-rw,s.also on “my computer” it reads as a cd-rom drive when i place a disc into it.PLEASE can anyone help me .I would be eternally greatful! thank you .
